A painting of a sea nymph on a rock with a harp, c. 2007 by L.W. Perkins.

"Song in the Key of Sea"

This painting was done on a piece of red oak plywood, which was a mistake--it came out as a really nice painting.. with a very strange texture in person--I scanned it and worked over it in Photoshop, though if you look closely you can still see some of the wood grain in the background. Normally I paint on birch board or hardboard, and I think I'll stick to those in the future!
